Ocracoke Island Realty welcomes you and your pet to our beautiful island located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Ocracoke Island offers 16 miles of pristine, undeveloped beaches which are part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

Ocracoke Village is located at the southern end of the island, offering a quaint small town environment. We invite you to explore our rich history, unique shops, galleries and restaurants, many of which are in walking or biking distance from our rental cottages.

Accessible only by ferry, private boat or plane, Ocracoke offers a wonderful destination for your family vacation, honeymoon, fishing trip, extended weekend getaway, or simply an escape from the normal routine.

As pet lovers, we share the important part that pets play in our lives. For so many of us our pets are like family and we can't imagine going on vacation without them. We invite you to be our guest in one of the many pet friendly cottages that we offer on Ocracoke Island.

Please take note that while most of our pet friendly homes can allow up to two domestic housebroken dogs or cats, some homes do have additional restrictions. Most commonly these restrictions include allowing only one dog, allowing only small breed dogs, or not allowing cats. We ask that you read information carefully and call with any questions.

Many pets enjoy a day at the beach as much as you do. They love the feel of the sand, the excitement of the crashing waves. But just as you must prepare with sunscreen and water, our pets also need to be prepared. You'll find some of the same dangers apply, including powerful waves and undercurrents, hot sand that can burn feet and paws.

There are also dangerous sea animals like jellyfish or crabs that the dogs may decide look like food.
